A friendly Persian restaurant on upper Richmond road west, between Coval Rd and Temple Sheen Rd. One can eat for under £10/head, with sepia pictures of old Tehran looking down from the walls. Don't miss the garlic bread, baked at the front of the restaurant in a barrel shaped contraption adorned with turquoise tiles: an Iranian take on a pizza oven!

An amazing Italian restaurant just near Hammersmith bridge. We've been going there for about 10 years now and we haven't been disappointed once. Very reasonably priced local with great food and friendly staff, great for any grown up celebration or just quiet dinner with friends...and they always give a free limoncello at the end!

This is a really fun, family run Italian place serving the usual pasta etc and woodfired pizza. We go every year before the fireworks in a group of 10 to 20 as well as throughout the year as a family. The pizza is great and they are very friendly. Be careful as once when my daughter was too shy to dance with the waiter I got roped in - mortifying!

The kind of neighbourhood café you wish you had at the end of your road - great coffee, friendly staff and great brunch. The smoked salmon, feta and spring onion scrambled eggs are amazing.

This is perhaps the best restaurant in Putney if you want atmosphere, good French food and wine. My husband loves the cheese trolley (think it may be weekends only but it's West-End worthy).

Not very sophisticated, but we love this place! Sushi, noodles, quick, cheap, light and airy and there is a wide variety of delicious food. You can have someone picky have something simple whilst someone a bit more sophisticated has yellowtail sashimi and mackerel something-or-other.

Sushi addict? My go-to restaurant is for take-away and dine-in is Maki Restaurant near the Richmond-Kew roundabout. You can always count on the sushi to be fresh and the manager to be a gracious host.

Beuatiful furniture, gifts and antiques can be found amongst the plants which adorn the greenhouses, and in the ramshackle wooden teahouse pastries and homemade cakes are on offer. For more of a special occasion try The Cafe restaurant (lunch only) with an ambience and food to die for.

Tania has catered a party for us and for at least two other Tower House parents a number of times. She also catered the delicious coq au vin for the Staff Review. Tania says that she cooks for a range of events from a canape party for 200, to preparing and presenting buffets for 120 people. She also works with larger events through her freelance work with a small group of London caterers, including government venues. She is a great cook who makes delicious food but - possibly just as important - is very organised, totally unflappable and is a pleasure to have around.

This is an Old Vicarage mum who runs cooking courses for approx groups of 6. She will do anything you want or you can join her set classes. They are informal, in her kitchen, fun and relaxed, you get to eat yummy food at the end and usually with a glass of wine. Fab, fun and educational!

She is also happy to cater for parties and for fresh cooked food for the freezer. Can cater for dinners for 2, picnics for 12, parties for 100, so if you have an event coming up, just ask!

I wanted to recommend an ex THS mum for all your cooking needs. She is a Leith's trained chef but also wonderfully down to earth and a pleasure to know. She can come to your house and cook for you and your family on a regular basis, prepare a one off dinner party, cater for a big party or just fill your freezer with delicious food.
